GA-7ZXR (rev3) RAID
I am desperately trying to come to grips with RAID setup after a hard drive
failure destroyed a mass of Data - not all of it retrievable from backups. As a result I have 2 Samsung Spinpoint 80gb IDE drives which I want to mirror, and will be running Win XP professional. So far I am getting nowhere fast, the manual does not give unambiguous instructions. Having tried setting up with unformatted drives, I have created an array, formated them and begun XP installation hitting F6 as instructed but on installing the drivers an error message appears saying the installation incurred an unexpected error and cannot complete. I am now trying to build one disk before using it to create the mirrored array but I cannot find a way to install the Promise RAID drivers as required before putting the disks on to the IDE3 + 4 connectors. Please can anyone give me cat sat on the mat instructions - I am obviously missing something simple along the way Peter |
