PC startup Problems...
Hi all, I finished assembling my new system...
Asus K8N-E board AMD Sempron 1 GB Ram ATI video card (AGP) Seagate 40Gb EIDE drive ( previously used) Sony DVD/CD WinXP pro in DVD drive pre-booted and changed setup to 'boot from DVD' boots from DVD - ok Problem (initially) - loads drivers up to point where it says loading NTFS file system, then black screen, system restarts... This repeats & repeats. On first check, I found the HDD cable wasn't seated ok, but even after this was corrected, it still does the above consistantly... Later, I changed to a WIN2K OS CD and now it loads to the point where it asks if you want to install. Pressing ENTER returns "Please Wait" and it just hangs there I can boot to a DOS prompt and see the HDD contents. There was never any OS on the HDD any suggestions? thx

slow down the timings on the RAM..also check to make sure that it isn't auto
Overclocking.

Be sure you've got a good power supply.
