Default Watching tv on the AIW X800XL, using the s-video in...

Hi. Thanks for your time. For a new computer i will build, an htpc, i want
to include the All-In-Wonder X800XL. This is my first experience with those
combo tv/graphic cards, but i've heard a lot of good things about them from
people and also in some reviews on the net. Since i have digital cable
service here in Montréal with my supplier (Videotron), i then have to switch
channels on the Explorer terminal...not on the TV set wich is left on the
channel-3. My question is: Since my Explorer 3100 terminal have both
composite and s-video outputs, and the AIW card have the corresponding
inputs,to gain better image quality, can i connect the s-video out toward
the s-video in of the AIW card and watch TV this way? Would i be able to use
all the features like scheduled recordings and dvr functionality just like
if i was using the card's tuner left on channel-3? TIA for any replies.

If you use the S-Video input you'll have to schedule the box to send the
correct program so the AIW can record it. You may be able to put a splitter
on the cable before it connects to the box and send RF to the AIWs coaxial
input too. That way you could tune in channels that aren't scrambled by just
scheduling them with the AIW. On my system I can tune up to channel 80 then
have to use the box for higher channels.

Thanks for your reply, Shadow.
If i understand it right, the software allows you to schedule a recording
not only from a channel but also from a video input?
