Default can't print - suggestions pls

Having a dinosaur canon BJC600 and haven't used it in 18mths (was
overseas at the time), the NEW ink cart will not print on standard
paper now.

How could i get this ink to come-out so to speak? Yes there is black
ink in the cart but no colour (only want to print in black and have
done it before). I have already reset the printer (plug power in and
hold down power button simul').

Some help kindly asking?

Hi.

This is a new ink cartridge therefore it has ink in it. Brand new.
I did an ink cart syst clean three times on the black but no results
to print. usually that gets the ink running, not this time.

Another suggestion perhaps?
Thank you.

is this the same NEW cartridge that was in the printer 18 months ago?
If so, your nozzels are clogged then.

Your printer may have a basic Canon print stop problem. Canon BJC-6000
and other printers have an undocumented "Waste Ink Tank Reset" situation
that is programmed into their EEPROMS. The "Waste Ink Tank" is not a
tank, but is a blotter-like absorbant pad under the printer mechanism.
The printers shut down after a certain number of start-up and Clean
cycles and require a procedure to reset the EEPROM. Normally only Canon
service centers would perform this built-in falure procedure.
