8800 gts????

Would 2 320 meg 8800gts card running in SLI be as good -or close- to a
8800gtx. I`m trying to decide to either swap out and buy a 8800gtx or go
cheaper and buy another 8800gts..Thanks.

i believe that two 8800gts should be faster the single 8800gtx.

For what purpose? Your intended usage generates the proper answer.

Look at it this way. If you buy a single 8800 GTX, you have a rational
upgrade path- add a second 8800 GTX in SLI. If you buy two 8800 GTS, then
you must replace both cards with 8800 GTX. Further, any price cuts will
likely help more with the 8800 GTX than the 8800 GTS. Finally, if a single
8800 GTX won't satisfy you, then two 8800 GTS aren't likely to either.

FWIW, a single 8800GTX will generate less heat than 2-8800GTS'.

I agree with this answer. Its a bad investment.

Well, the OP implies he already has a single GTS, and is considering either
ditching his current GTS and buying a GTX or keep his current GTS and get a
second one.

If your PSU can give enough power to keep 2 GTS'ses happy, I for one would
consider the GTS in SLI option. It's the cheaper route. This upgrade path is
why I chose 1 GTS myself. (And an Antec truepower trio 650 to be able to
keep everything running).

This review shows that the GTS'ses (640 MB version) in SLI are faster than
the GTX:

The main problem is that you wont have an upgrade path after this buy...
