Depending on the drive, software with much more capabilities may be
available - for Lite-On drives, you can get the KProbe utility which will allow you to measure the numbers of C1 and C2 errors. Newer Plextor drives can do the same with Plextools.. -- Robert Hancock Saskatoon, SK, Canada To email, remove "nospam" from Home Page: http://www.roberthancock.com/ "Mike Richter" wrote in message ... An error is "soft" if rereading allows it to be corrected; it is "hard" if repeated reading cannot determine the correct value. The only programs which might be considered "better" are from Arrowkey and are expensive. I like the plot from Inspector, but wouldn't spend the price for it if CDSpeed had been what it is now at the time I bought it. Mike -- http://www.mrichter.com/ |
