GA-MA78GM-S2H SATA Setup
I'm getting ready to assemble a system with the GA-MA78GM-S2H and a SATA HD
and Optical Drive. Can anyone explain the SATA options in the BIOS. I don't want a RAID setup, but should I select native IDE or AHCI? Can I install WIN XP from the SATA optical drive or do I need to use an IDE drive? Do I still need to use F6 and a floppy disk during installation? Ed |

I thought AHCI allowed all the drives features to be used. eg, NCQ,etc. This is just a question, I'm not having a go at you. I would love to know the difference. cheers Gordy |

GA-MA78GM-S2H SATA Setup
One more thing to check is the sata hd. One I installed, a Seagate 320 came
jumper for 1.5 transfer rate. I had to change the jumpers on the back to get the 3.0 rate. No big deal. "Ed Augst" wrote in message . .. I went ahead and installed with the native IDE settings and everything went
ok. Thanks to everyone for the advice. Ed "BigJim" wrote in message ... One more thing to check is the sata hd. One I installed, a Seagate 320 came jumper for 1.5 transfer rate.
