Chipset overheat?
Hi,
Lately I've been having trouble with my comp - I boot, then when I try to enter Windows, my comp goes blank. [Sometimes it happens after I work in Windows for 5-15 mins]. I thought that this could be caused by something being overheated, so I opened my comp case and touched different things - the only hot thing was the North Bridge. Question - could this be because of my chipset being overheated? I don't have a chipset cooler... Also, lately my comp's begun to "hang" even when the chipset doesn't feel very hot.... Could it be that my chipset has gone bad, completely fubar? Or should I still try buying a cooler? Any other thoughts/advices? Thanks alot. Martas |

leave the side cover off the case, does this help in anyway?
be careful 'touching' things without static protection. are all your fans clear of debris? "martas" wrote in message m... http://www.pantherproducts.co.uk/Art...eratures.shtml
http://www.lavalys.hu/products/overv...?pid=1&lang=en The top URL will take you to a page where all the common Processor temps are to be found. The second one is a prog that no comp should be without, in my humble opinion, it will tell you just about everything you want to know about your comp including the temperatures of the Processor, HD and Motherboard. Good luck. |
