Default OT? Minimalist Brick-Powered Mobo That Renders HD?

I'd like to build a couple of boxes to put under television sets
and play HDTV (MPEG) recordings from a server downstairs.

I want quiet and minimal power consumption consistent with
rendering HDTV. Totally fanless is my ideal.

I've seen a couple of low-power boards that run from an external
brick that will render SDTV, consume very little power, and make
zero noise (bc they're fanless).

Those guys seem to make the rendering grade in spite of very low
powered CPUs by virtue of an onboard MPEG chip.

But I have not been able to find anything in that vein that
promises to render HD.

Still too early in the HDTV game?
