Default How Determine the Right Case fo New MOBO?

I'm a bit behind the times since I last built my computer. I have an Abit
KT7-A Mobo and it's juiced up pretty good, but it's starting to lag behind
some of the newer stuff and the games, graphics etc. I heard of a DFI Mobo
(LANPARTY UT nF3 250G ) from someone in this forum that would meet the
requirements of being low-cost yet a real good board with plenty of
overclocking and tweaks. Am planning on using AMD Athlon 64.
The bottom line is-----and I'm embarassed by this------but I don't know,
with all the products out there now-a-days, how to determine what case fits
what MB's. I just can't seem to find a way to match up a case that would
fit with the particular motherboard. I have a large, full tower right now
with my Abit, but I would really like a smaller footprint. Can someone give
me a hint as to how I can determine what tower can fit what Mobo? I bet the
answer is simple, but I can't seem to have confidence choosing something out
of the blue.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks,
Al

As long as they're ATX, they'll all fit. ATX is a standard, that's the
idea of standards. The only time to worry is with the small "cube" size
cases.

ATX is the 'size' you want .. that refers to the standard motherboard size.
You want a mid tower or mini tower, right now it sounds like you have a full
tower case. You generally have better ventalation with a larger case, but
you also need fans to cool things off inside and keep you components cool.
You can alwsys get a real inexepensive case as hopefully you will not be
messing around too many times in it, but it is the home for your new
computer so it needs a good Power Supply and needs to have good ventaltion
to be effective. You also don't want to gte cut up by sharp edges that
might come on a cheap case and you don't want it too be really hard to
install stuff in them.
I prefer to use Antec cases myself, you can't really go wrong with them, as
they are strong, reliable, won't cut you up when you work onthem and usually
have excellent cooling at neat features for working on. like the HD modules
that come in and out.
A filter by the fan is a nice touch too, but not necessary.
The Power Supply (PSU) some times comes with them and some times not ...
generally the PSU is a chepaer one that comes with the case, but not always.

I guess my reply to the group before didn't take ( or something), But I
feel kinda silly about the answer. But I also got some good pointers on
this subject and will definitely take heed in them. My full tower is ok, but
awkward and style-less. Just a long box. I suppose a mid-sized tower may
be a little more cramped inside, but I sure would like the smaller
footprint. Some of the towers I've seen on Newegg are really neat
looking---and more functional than mine. Also, with an AMD XP of some sort
would require a 400 supply rather than the 300 ATX I have now.
Thanks a million guys,
Al
