Default PS/2 vs USB Keyboard and why Logitech K120 belongs in trash !

Hello,

In this video I prove why PS/2 keyboards are better for typing and gaming.

https://youtu.be/fQxe7MXUYOo

In short:
PS/2 drivers are optimized and use less CPU cycles and thus will remain responsive in HEAVY CPU GAMING USAGE.

Logitech K120 USB Keyboard has BAD drivers and TINY annoying shift key on the left, the rest is also a few millimeters off causing QUESTION MARK to be pressed while trying to hold RIGHT shift key.

(Unfortunately I smashed it to pieces before I could test the BAD drivers like shown in this video, however I used another USB keyboard, Logitech UltraX it has much better drivers but even here it shows the USB drivers consume more CPU cycles ! Therefore I advise gamers to use PS/2 connections for keyboards when available, to keep keyboard responsive during HIGH CPU usage during gaming, especially for World of Warships ! )

I completely smashed this **** out of Logitech K120 and put it in the trash where it belongs =D

It was 12 euros. Worst 12 euros ever spent ! LOL. Shame on Logitech for producing this garbage. I am very glad this keyboard is now DEAD, so I did have some fun smashing the **** out of this 12 euro costing piece of ****.

This video shows:

1. LiteOn PS/2 Keyboard in white, using less cpu cycles (less black lines on screen).
2. Logitech UltraX USB keyboard, using more cpu cyces (more black lines). This keyboard has better drives than the Logitech K120 presumably, but still perhaps worse than PS/2.
3. Logitech K120 keyboard in trash where it belongs ! =D
4. Tiny annoying shift key on Logitech K120 keyboard.

Worse 12 euro's ever spent on hardware.

This keyboard lasted about 6 months or 1 year or something before I totally smashed it to pieces, couldn't stand it anymore.

This is the first piece of hardware that I completely smashed to pieces as far as I can remember ! LOL.

That says something about the horror of this product ! =D

Bye,
Skybuck.

This is what I want for my next keyboard. A Unicomp
with buckling spring action. I had a keyboard that came
with my first PC, that visually looked almost exactly
like this. But I wore that one out.

https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UNI0P46

Here is a video comparing the action on some of
the different keyboard types.

When I have some time, I will upload a horrible video for you.

A video of a keyboard that I had full with hairs ! I THINK YOU WILL LIKE IT..

Because the hairs gonna function as a damper or SPRING LOL.

No just kidding but maybe.

Unfortunately I wrecked some parts of the keyboard, I was in an annoyed state... kinda feels bad wrecking it, it was kinda expensive keyboard at the time I think, but that's ok I have plenty of spares.

Only later did I regret it a little bit then again... it did have this annoying wrist support... and was a bit big..

Currently I am using a trust keyboard, I know it can be bad for gaming, haven't tried world of warships on it yet, probably won't.

I did play dune 2 and mortal kombat on it, so far ok.

Mortal Kombat seems to run a bit fast in dosbox, so didn't get to the 2 vs 1 or goro stage yet, I wonder if maybe the trust reacts a bit to late.

Maybe I will not upload the video though, it's a bit EMBARRASSING.

But I think it's a good thing to upload it, to show people what can be underneath those keys !

It's a horror show for sure ! =D

I saw one youtube video that looks a little bit like mine, but mine probably worse hahahah.

It was probably only used for 5 years like his... but still full of crap... maybe 10 years don't know really...

Euhmmmm... yeah I broke the stuff that has metal clips on it. like spacebar and shift keys.

Spacebar wouldn't work properly sometimes and I would end up typing like this:

Hello thisisa test myspacekeyboardis notwkringwell and thusicant really seespaces that well.

So I decided to replace it just in case...

Sucks how keyboards don't come with cleaning and taking apart instructions.

I will try and buy a keyboard that has a cleaning video on youtube !

You should make sure you know how to clean your new keyboard before you buy it !

My video will later convince you TRUST ME ! =D

Bye for now,
Skybuck.

WELL FOR NOW.

I already decided some time ago to postpone all video related editing processing and uploading until I find a way to do it much faster.

This may require a new computer, usb 3.0 and what not.

I am kinda amazed how fast other people can do it, at least it seems so.

Otherwise if I have to spent hours that would not be worth it, it has to be fast... like zip zap.

5 minutes mostly.

So when I can do it really fast I might upload some horrors ! =D

And maybe also some usefull VMware installation tricks or whatever.

My video content kinda sucks at the moment for the most part except some things.

I do upload sometime a little bit if it's important enough =D

That was kinda the fun part about my youtube channel upload worthless stuff ! LOL =D

But also technical failures. I kinda like that part the best ! =D

Bye,
Skybuck =D

My video card has NVENC on it, which is a way to get the
video card to recompress content. It processes for me
at around 330FPS (that's faster than real-time).

It works with a few of the "Hollywood" CODECs, rather than
with every possible CODEC in existence. And it's a one pass
rather than a two pass process.

A card like GT 1030 has zero NVENC.
A card like GTX 1050 has one NVENC.
A card like GTX 1080 has two NVENC.
A card like Titan has three NVENC.

This is one reason, if someone asks whether they should
buy 1030, I think buying the card with one NVENC,
is worth the extra cost. As it's one more toy to play with.

But this stuff can also be hard to work with.

I went to the trouble of doing a build of FFMPEG
myself. I installed or boiled up all the necessary
libraries. Finally, I added the 2GB or so package
to allow NVENC to be switched on in the build. And
the stupid thing says "wrong version" for the NVENC
stuff. Great. But, it doesn't tell me the version
numbers of the bits it considers mismatched. That
ruined my build experiment right on the spot, as
I didn't have any idea what I should be changing.

I specifically wanted to test NVENC on Linux, because
I have a suspicion it's actually a bit faster than 330FPS.
But I'm never going to find out now.

Somebody knows how to do this on Fedora, but I'm not
wasting my time doing this a second time. I know what
the odds are, and the odds are stacked against me
finishing a build.

Paul
