[Laptop - Connectors] - Using laptop parts to build a PC
Hi all,
I have an old Toshiba CS110 laptop, of which I would like to use the keyboard and the LCD screen to connect to a mini ATX motherboard. I already searched the web, but without success. My questions are simple : - How can I convert the laptop keyboard cable into a PS/2 compatible connector ? - How can I convert the laptop LCD screen cable into VGA compatible connector ? Thanks ! My questions are simple :
My answer is simple... While this may be possible to do If you have to ask you can't do it. I have seen hundreds of questions of this sort but I have NEVER seen anyone post: "I DONE IT!". NEVER, EVER! So, while it may be possible I would suggest saving a lot of time and forgetting that you ever even thought about it. TWINBLUE |

You need a chip to scan the keyboard matrix (much like the chip in a normal keyboaed, but coded to work with the laptop keyboard matrix), and convert that to PS2. - How can I convert the laptop LCD screen cable into VGA compatible connector ? You need a VGA to LCD adaptor board, very expensive, Thanks ! Flavien --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Hi all,
I got two technical answers to my questions (also posted to comp.sys.imb.pc.hardware.misc), and to sum up, what I want to do requires: - a fairly good technical knowledge - an equally fairly good amount of money. I don't think I really am going to invest in any of those fields, so I'll try using a real mini PS/2 keyboard and a VGA LCD screen to replace the laptop ones. Are 13" VGA LCD horribly expensives ???
