Proliant 8500
Proliant 8500 with Zeon 700MHz/2MB cache x 8 with 2GB RAM with Windows 2000
Advanced Server and SP2. Event viewer is showing the following events with the following info at boot up; source is CPQPHP, Event ID is 19 and the text is as follows. "hp Proliant PCI Hot Plug Hotplug capable slots 7-9 are running at 33MHz (PCI mode)." This is repeated twice more but for slots 1-6 and 10-11. This model of Proliant does have 33MHz slots but 10 and 11 should be 66MHz. Slots 2,3,6 and 9 are in use. Does this indicate a problem or the slots held down until use? |

A 33 MHZ card in any bank will "downgrade" every slot in the bank . eg
a PCI card in a PCI-X bank will make all slots work in PCI only and at the cards rated speed On Mon, 24 Nov 2003 20:08:43 -0000, "Leigh Bowden" wrote: Proliant 8500 with Zeon 700MHz/2MB cache x 8 with 2GB RAM with Windows 2000 Advanced Server and SP2. But there's nothing in the "fast" bank.
