"The Inquisitor" scribbled in
. uk: What the best and/or fastest agp thats around at the moment? thanks The fastest in the UK is the Gainward 7800GS Bliss. Cheaper versions of the 7800GS are also available from other manufacturers. FWIW, I'm very happy with my evga 7800GS. It'll keep me going until it's time to build a new system in 2007. By then we'll be looking at Core 2 Duo systems running Vista and DX10 cards. |

The 7800GS is the fastest. Best is totally subjective but probably very
close between eVGA, XFX, and BFG. "The Inquisitor" wrote in message . uk... What the best and/or fastest agp thats around at the moment? thanks |

Just be aware that 7800GS cards may sell for $80-$100 *more* than a much
faster 7800GT, enough to buy a PCIe motherboard. A motherboard swap will be more work, obviously, though the Rebuild function in XP can be used to avoid a OS reinstall. -- "War is the continuation of politics by other means. How about booting into safe mode, open up regedit and delete the
local_machine "enum" key. Then shut down, replace hardware, boot, set bios settings, then let windows redetect the new hardware and then load new drivers. DaveL "First of One" wrote in message ... ... The 7800GS is the fastest. Best is totally subjective but probably very close between eVGA, XFX, and BFG. Without any shadow of a doubt the Gainward 7800GS+ is the fastest AGP card in existance. The only thing that comes close is the Gainward 7800GS (without the +). Why? Because the Gainward 7800GS+ is not a 7800GS, its really a 7900GT and the 7800GS is really a 7800GT. Both of these cards slaughter all other AGP cards in virtually every benchmark. Chip |
