Default * Which 6600GT to buy? Asus or MSI?

Hey there,

Just went to order a computer, still have a couple of days to change my mind
about certain parts. Video card I chose was the Asus EN6600GT listed at $325
CND. The saleswoman tried talked me out of it, and opting for the MSI
version of the 6600GT which is priced $100 less.

I'm pretty loyal to Asus, and wondered if I'm being silly and should go with
the MSI instead. Can the Asus card do anything that the MSI can't? I guess
I'm looking to be talked into sticking with my original choice, but could
also be talked into switching.

(I realize some of you might recommend *other* cards than the two listed,
but since we don't know if the store is even carrying them, let's stick to
those two.)

Thanks.

So NOBODY here as the Asus EN6600GT?

They might have priced themselves out of contention. Other 6600GT cards are
much cheaper. But my loyalty to the brand is all-encompassing,
unfortunately. :S

Unless those other cards do something the Asus doesn't, then I'll pay the
extra bucks, if only for the peace of mind of having a video card of the
same brand as the motherboard (heard too many "won't work in X mode on the
A8N-SLI" stories). Not taking any chances.

Not exactly $100, a bit of an exagerration on my part there.

From:
http://www.microbytes.com/products.p...w=all&pcid=202

ASUS PCIE EN6600GT-TD128 128M 6600GT TVO/SLI
$334.75

MSI PCIE NX6600GT-TD128 128M 6600GT SLI TV-OU
$266.77

In fact, there also seems to be an even more expensive version of the Asus
6600GT :
ASUS PCIE EN6600GT-TD128 128M 6600GT TOP SLI
$369.77

Doesn't give much detail though.

i second that it's highly clocked not as the gigabyte one (1050 vs
1120gigabyte"mem") but affordable...

the bas side is that they are 128bit mem but again it gddr3 witch is
suppose to be the next generation of video memory...
