The cursor will jump to the upper right corner and pause, press the F10
key then. The F10 key launches the utilities that are stored on the utility partition of the boot disc. In the event your system does not have these utilities installed you can download them from HP. You'll want a SmartStart v5.5 CD |

agreed. He needs to use SmartStart to setup his server.
I dont recall if SS installs the ACU to the system partion ... i tend to think it doesnt. So, he will need to boot from the CD to get that application. - LC "VinceV" wrote in message ups.com... I was under the impression that the portions that handle 5-10 year old servers is the same on all recent versions. You might be able to save a few bucks by getting one that is a version or two out of date on eBay. |

Hi,
today i've tested a lot. When the cursor goes in the left corner it works with f10 to enter the utilitys. Now i need a Disk with the tools for the Smart Array 3200 Controller to reconfigure the partitions and disks. I've tested the SmartStart cd 5.5 too. But it doesn't start. The Server hanks on a picture "Smart Start", with two greag guxy, they have a server in a car :-) Any ideas to make the SmartStart CD working or where i can get a disk image for the controller. Cheers coffi Guy Macon wrote: VinceV wrote: The F10 key launches the utilities that are stored on the utility partition of the boot disc. My current SmartStart CD is so old, it's made out of wood and only sets up steam-powered servers. heh ... some of mine run by the slave power of captive civilizations, capable of dozens of abacus calculations per hour. |
