Default p4s800d-e too hot ?

My processor runs at around 60 deg. C. It runs win xp, which seems to freeze
up at random times under light load. Could this be a software issue or is my
pc too hot ?

Fred

It's not *too* hot, but it sounds like your CPU fan and case fans
could use an upgrade. A temp of 60deg alone would not explain random
freezes - mine ran at that temp for a month or 2 over the summer until
I replaced the case, and had no problems at all. Most likely it's an
XP thing...

Thanks, that's pretty much what I figured...

Your CPU is running too hot. If it's running at 60 C at idle, then it's
probably getting up to 70 C under load. 70 C is the danger point for
Pentiums.
