Default Suggestions for good PCI Express card?

I'm starting to think about upgrading my main system and will need to replace my
P650 with a PCI Express video card. Unfortunately, Matrox has dropped the ball
on development of an affordable card of that type. I'm not about to spend
nearly $300 on what they have come up with!

Does anybody know of a PCI Express card with 2D performance comparable to the
650 and within the 650's price range? My guess would be that something with an
ATI chip would qualify, but I've been out of the loop on recent offerings.

Thanks for your recommendations.

Larc
