Default QMS 860 print system :: No lights in controlpanel.

I've just bought an old QMS-860 Print System. When I turn on power, only the
LED for the selected paper-tray is on. The display's first line is full off
"boxes", the second line is empty.

When pressing the "Test Print" button on the back, a nice page with lines is
printed.

The printer does not respond to any buttons (Online/Offline or any other),
and does not respond to printjobs sent to it.

Any ideas as to what I could do to make it work ?

This printer has most likely lost it's firmware.
This is a common problem with this type. I can send you the firmware.
You need to copy it to the printer via the pc's parallel port
99% of the times this is a permanent sollution, the other 1% have a
defective controllerboard.

Hi!
Firmware would be very nice ... I was unable to find it at
"qms-minolta"-website ... Is this printer way too old for support?

How is the copying done?
How do I make the printer aware of the transfer?
