Default XFX 6800: lcd monitor and drivers issue

Hello all,

I've had a problem with the card mentioned in the subject.

Plug, boot, and then the problem. If I set 1280x1024 all is ok, but my
photon20vision has a resolution of 1600x1200 so I cannot see the things
clearly, only a little bit blurred, and this is normal.
If I set 1600x1200 I still see a 1280x1024 on my monitor, only that the
missing part is outside the visible part of the desktop.

My monitor uses dvi, so I cannot make nothing... I've tried the 71.24a
version of the drivers, and everithing seems fine. Only my opengl
applications don't work. The are slooooooooooowwww.

So I've tried all the driver versions that I can find on the net,
uninstalling the old ones, rebooting and, before installing the new ones,
using a detonator destroyer that I have.

The only combination that works is to install the 70.41beta and then,
WITHOUT uninstall, install the 71.24.

Anyone had this problems?

Now everithing works fine. Directx applications, opengl apps... games... no
problem at all. But what a mess!!!

Bye

Fabio
