Geforce FX5900 Ultra and VICE CITY Problem
Hi, I have a problem with vice city on my MSI Geforce FX5900 Ultra 256mb.
If i turn off the frame limiter (which is highly undesirable because my card can push this game wayyyyyyy above 30fps), the game runs fine but when you drive a certain distance it fails to draw the textures for the new part of the map you enter, you drive through a texturless (slightly coloured but blurry) map for a few seconds (sometimes as long as 10) before it draws them in. This has only begun happening since i installed windows xp, with windows 98 there was no problem. Has anyone else experienced this or maybe found a solution? I am using the 45.23 drivers, and have tried both nvidia and omega drivers with the same results. I don't want to use 52.16 because they are broken and cause errors on my system. My system should be easily powerful enough to push this game above 30fps without having to wait for textures to load.. I have an AthlonXP 2600+ with 1gb corsair twinx ram and geforce fx5900 Ultra 256mb, soltek KT400-C motherboard. |
