Geforce 2 mx 400 No colours on TV

As the OP noted this seems to be a common problem with s-video out on VGA adapters. I've seen it on nVideo chips and the problem may be specific to nVidia's reference design. I have a Panasonic HDTV that is perfectly capable of handling s-video and have experienced the same problem with my Ti4200. It was only by accident that I found a solution that works for me. I have a A/V switching stereo receiver and if I run the s-video from the Ti4200 to the receiver and then from the receiver to the TV, it works perfectly. If I run the s-video from the Ti4200 directly to the TV I get the B/W problem. I would still like to be able to go directly to the TV. But until someone can actually define the reason for this problem and a solution can be found, I'll have the receiver in the loop. |

I presume you have selected the correct TV standard depending where you are ? ie NTSC for the USA / Japan. PAL for almost the rest of the world. You will get B & W in NTSC mode on a PAL TV and vice versa probably |
