Default Help: Connect LCD Display with (different) Graphics Card

To describe my problem I added some pictures, each about 10k
in size. Since I am not familiar with hardware I try to describe
my problem as good as I can. Of course I will respond to detailed
questions. (However not before tuesday.)

I try to run a portable PC. (Prehistory unknown)

It has a removable LCD-Display.

This display has at it's back a (for me) unknown jack
http://www.8ung.at/kotyczka/pics/Pic03.jpg

Furthermore there are two graphics cards availible, an older
Trident Cyber which does not work, and an
ATI Rage Pro which works fine. Both graphics cards have a
VGA jack and a special LCD jack.

At the old (out of order) card this jack looks the same as at the
LCD-Display (26 pins)

For this I have two calbles, one calble with two equal plugs
(for external use)
http://www.8ung.at/kotyczka/pics/Pic08.jpg
and one cable with two diffrent plugs
http://www.8ung.at/kotyczka/pics/Pic09.jpg
http://www.8ung.at/kotyczka/pics/Pic10.jpg
The latter plug matches the defect card:

However the other (working) card, has a quite different jack
namely with 20 pins

And therefore I have no plug.

I'd like to know if it will be possible to connect the LCD display
with the newer card. All those smaller plugs are complete unknown to me.
How are they called? Are they common?
Can you say anything about the terminal assignment? Are there some adapters?

I would be glad about any useful hint.

I'm not really sure if the apperently defect card is really defect.
Lately, I was told, it was still OK.
Will it be possible that "only" some of those small switches
http://www.8ung.at/kotyczka/pics/Pic14.jpg are in a wrong position?
Does anybody know what they are for and how they are to switch?
Where can I get any further information?

TIA Uwe Kotyczka
