Which is an ATI the step-up from a Geforce4 MX 4400?
I've got the GeForce4 MX 440 and I want to get it out of my machine
for another. Which ATI card would be a good step up? The price on the 9800se is in my range but I understand that it is "crippled'?? I've been researching specs but I'm getting boggled. Machine specs: AMD 1800+ - Asus - A7V266C - PC2100 768mb ram Gotta go, Magwheelz |

That said, the S in SE stands for Slow. You'd be better off with a Sapphire Atlantis ATI RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB, $150, or the new Sapphire ATI RADEON 9600XT, $180, both with free shipping from www.newegg.com |

even crippled the 9800se is 10 million times more powerful than that
440. I went from a 440mx to a 9700 Pro. it was worth it. On Sat, 15 Nov 2003 09:59:33 -0500, Magwheelz wrote: I've got the GeForce4 MX 440 and I want to get it out of my machine for another. Will this make no difference to me in a 4x MoBo and be the same as a 9800 in my case or are there some memory/clock issues also with the 9800SE?? (I appreciate the chat) Gotta go, Magwheelz |

Never mind... I found the comparisons...
http://ati.com/products/radeon9600/r...o/compare.html Thanks. The XT clock looks 25% faster than the pro... is it overclocked out of the box I wonder... Basically ATI made process and design improvements that made the XT perfectly reliable at a higher speed. |
