Ray artifacts on 6800gt
Has anyone seen this type of thing before,
here's an example http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/995/screen0054da.jpg I've just bought a Leadtek winfast a400gt tdh It's played Doom3 and Farcry great but I'm getting this type of artifact when playing Prince of Persia 2. The game doesn't freeze but these 'rays' are showing up everywhere, I've tried different drivers for the card and updated my via 4in1 drivers. I'm running an athlon3000xp on a jetway polaris 400 mobo. Any ideas guys? Phil |

Phil Historically, this type of artifacting is caused by either overclocking or being incompatible with fast-writes/sideband addressing. I once had a GF2MX that couldn't run with fast-writes on in D3d games, otherwise I'd get "wild polygons" like you're seeing. |

The card is brand new and hasn't been oc'd, I've disabled fastwrite in the bios too. Looks like I'm going to have to get in touch with the supplier. Phil |

What power supply unit are you using? Your PSU may be starving the video

I had the same thing awhile back in Far Cry and video drivers fixed it. I
have been running 66.93's since with my BFG 6800 GT OC and never had another problem. I can't run any drivers higher than this because of problems with NF3 motherboards and 6800 series AGP cards. You get pauses in D3D games like Far Cry and HL2 that last 8 to 10 seconds. 66.93's are the only ones that work at all but still with pauses once in awhile. That's all I have to say about that problem as there are 100's of pages in different forums talking about this and nVidia has yet to fix the NF3 chipset drivers when used with 6800 series AGP cards. |

Well I can try an older set of drivers but the games not freezing, I've ran FarCry and Doom3 great, POP2 runs without freezing but has these ray like artifacts. Phil |
