Default Dark LCD

I just got a Compaq Dell Evo n410c on Ebay. I like the laptop but the
screen (especiallly in battery mode) is darker than my old Dell
Inspiron 2100. I don't think it is broken...it was just the way it
was made.

Does anyone know how to adjust the screen so it can be brighter. I
can't find a software setting or bios setting to do so. Does anyone
make software that you can use to adjust the screen brightness? I
know I will lose battery time but it is worth it to me.

Thanks
Bryan
