I doubt that they use a traditional backup methodology. Seems more likely to
me that they use an industrial strength version of a tool similar to this:

www.snapraid.it

Instead of creating another copy of the data, you create a matrix that then
allows you to recreate any missing or corrupt data.

Yup, I posted this in 2015. I'll bet they are above 400 PB now.

And their new data center in Phoenix might have another 100 PB.
