I love the one I just bought. I generally used the huge towers until
they went out of style and people started using the mid towers more. I
generally used the larger mid towers recently which were fine but
bought a slightly smaller Antec mid tower because it was on sale.

Its ok if you want a smaller type of case which many do - but I really
wanted the chieftec large tower. Its on sale this week at Compusa w/o
POWER SUPPLY. Not the greatest price ever for most people who have
access to all the discount places but around here $69 for a Chieftec
type case is cheap even without the PS.

Not only does it look way way way better than the last 3 cases I
bought it makes you PC look really impressive, the inside is so roomy
that a motherboard is a piece of cake to install and PS. In the
slightly smaller mid tower case it was kind of a pain to squeeze in
the MB and PS and drives.

Overall the build is much sturdier though not quite as robust as the
really old super heavy steel cases. Frankly its really heavy as it is.
If was built heavier - it would be a pain to carry anywhere. Its
slightly thinner than the older cases but not like tin foil like some
of the new ones.

Its got two fan holes in the back, the usual in the front but it has
TWO 3.5 inch removal brackets to hold several small drives instead of
the usual one. And they provide a fan bracket for a standard 80 mm fan
IN FRONT ofthe 3.5 drive bracket so it blows air over your hard disks.
Not only is the interior not all cramped up and a mass of tangled
cables blocking all the airflow - its got that fan mounting feature
right in front of your hard disks.

I also noticed its way quieter than the small case I had.
I got the ANTEC chieftec style case.

If you are thinking about saving $20-30 by not getting such a case -
eventhough you want one , dont do it. They are excellent. I was
thinking I really dont need one after buying one only a few months ago
and having some other older atx cases which were fine sitting around
but its well worth it.

The only draw back is - its that same shade of weird metallic bronze
which is hard to find a touch up bottle for. It doesnt look bad but
hard to touch up chips and scratches.

The dragon rears its ugly head.

egghead has the antec (charc grey) with power supply (400) for 95 usd a much
better deal.

One thing nice is if its on the floor you don't have to reach down very far
for the Cdrom.
Still too noisy for me which is basically the hard drives vibrating the case
interior. Will work on that soon. And should be easily fixed with some
dampening.

Lane
