Strontium stood up, at show-n-tell, and said:

I would think that the main source of your headache, is the OS.
Win98 was great, when it was current with the hardware.
Unfortunately, it ain't so wonderful, anymore. The 9500 is a fairly
'next generation' video card. Hell, XP has problems with the latest
Intel chipsets. Can't even do a repair install, anymore, due to the
chipset architecture being so new. Maybe someone else has a different
experience/opinion. Take mine, with a grain of salt.

Carly stood up, at show-n-tell, and said:

I have an Abit KG-7 running Win 98se with an Athlon 1.4 processor and
512 megs ram. I've F-Disk, formated and completely reinstalled
windows and the only hardware I've installed so far is a brand new
Sapphire 9500 Pro, and yet the system is so unstable that I can't do
anything else. I can't even download the latest driver updates from
Sapphire. The system either locks up or I get a blue screen that
just says Windows, nothing else at all (I've never seen this one).
The card installed just fine without probems and I can do one or two
things with the computer before it locks up, but that's it. For
example I downloaded winzip and installed it but then when I tried to
extract the Via 4in1 drivers it crashed.

So does anyone know of any problems with this video card/mobo combo?

I'm sorry. Apparently, I'm feeling a little too psychotic this morning.
