Default M571 Questions - Mouse/Video

MB: M571
OS: Win95

I am trying to re-build up an old system to play my old DOS/Win95
games. I have two old motherboards. One board, the M571 is newer and
is the board I am actually building the system from.

MOUSE:
On my M571 system, although there is an 8 pin hookup for a PS2 mouse, I
do not have the connector (fig1).

The other motherboard does have what looks like a PS2 mouse port, and I
would like to borrow that, BUT the connector for it is 4 wires in a row
(fig2).

I took the wires out of this in the hopes that I could connect them to
the pins on the motherboard. There are actually two spaces on the M571
to connect PS2 mice ports. No matter what I try, Win95 does not see
the PS2 mouse.

The four wires a red, yellow, green, brown

From what I have read: YELLOW should be +5V, GREEN should be Ground,

making brown and red either the clock or the data. I have tried these
wires in both positions.

Is my connector something other than a PS2 connector? If it should
work, what am I doing wrong? Shouldn't Windows detect my mouse if the
PS2 mouse port is working?

VIDEO:
I have a Diamond Stealth 64 Video S3. Windows detects something close
but different. It installs that driver. This would be easy to correct
except that once it has detected that, it detects a PCI VGA adapter
again and asks me to specify the type. There is an onboard video card
on the M571, but it is disabled. Windows95 keeps freezing at ood
moments when using any mode other than safe mode...I think more
specifically when attempting anything other than 640x480 in the lowest
resolution. Does anyone know why Windows would be detecting TWO video
adapters when only one is present?

Yeah, that is where I got the boards PS2 wiring. I can't figure out
why the pins are so different. Was there a PS1 Mouse Port at one
point?

Nope, the name comes from the IBM PS/2 system it first appeared on.
