Default Cooling 7N400 pro2 rev1 sorted!!

Hi All
Ga 7n400 pro2 with XP3200+ (400fsb)
2* 256 PC3200 (DDR 400) Kingmax Ram
Gigabyte FX5600XT
IBM 40GB (C: pri ma)
Pioneer DVD Rom (pri sl)
LG 4081B DVD multi write (sec ma)
Samsung spinpoint 160 GB (sec sl)
TDK CD writer - on Gigagraid ATA

Just swapped my old full tower for a Lian-li PC68 case with no less than 4
case fans going - all speed controled by Globalwin 550 PSU and using Arctic
silver 5, Installed Gigabytes own "Ultra" CPU cooler set about half-speed.
CPU temps running at 100% loading whilst encoding DivX to DVD = 56 with a
case temp of 38
Idle CPU temp = 51 AND I can hear myself think!

I did use a Solid copper AERO 7, but even on full speed with the side off
the case, it never got below 52! Normal use with the side on it was into the
low 60's. Coolermaster hahaha - thats a paradox if ever there was one.

Joe.

Well Joe .. I this was an information post , thanks for the data.
If you want to compare temps on the same MB here are mine.
Light load 54C for CPU and 36C for the system.
Max I have seem is 56C CPU and 38 C for the system.

I run a 3000+ up at 2377mHz. Use 4 case fans also.
I have pretty well gotten over the thermal shock I got when I built last
January. Since the thermal diode is on chip, it appears we are well below
the 85° C Max operating temp.
