Default Canon pixma ip1600 and ink cartridges

I'm getting a low ink level message even tho there is plenty of ink in
the cartridges. Are the cartridges chipped? Can they be refilled? And
how do you reset the ink level monitor?

Thank you all for your suggestions in advance.

Cheers

I have no personal experience of these cartridges but you can try these two
sites-
http://www.refillinstructions.com/Canon/C24.htm
and
http://www.bsprintcartridges.com/can...structions.htm
Also I suggest you look at the Nifty Stuff forum at
http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/
Research what is posted there and if your questions are not answered post
questions of your own.
