Power Pin Connections
I am having some trouble figuring out how to make some of the pin power
connections to the Gigabyte 8KNXP motherboard. For starters, the motherboard manuals show the connections by individual pins while the connectors from the case are grouped (ie, if there is are say 2 pins to a certain connector the are both in a single two holed plastic connector, but there is no indication which is Pin#1. Now, I do see that each plastic connector, on one side has a little triangle shape embedded in the plastic of the connector under one of the holes…..is this meant to indicate Pin 1???? Also, the case has connectors for : "Power LED" - There is a separate connector on the board called" PWR_LED" so this seems clear. "Reset SW" - There is a "RES plug on board so this seems straightforward. What does SW mean? "Power SW" - Not sure where this goes…there is a spot on the board for "PW (Soft Power Connector)..is this where it goes…and what does soft power mean? "Speaker" - I see the plug for this. "HDD LED" - I assume this goes to HD..this is described on the board as (IDE Hard Drive Active LAD). If my drives are SATA will this still work? Finally, there is a connection on the board for "MSG (Message LED/Power/Sleep LED) but I don't see a case connector for this…do you just forget about this connection? Thanks. Howard |
