Default ISDN USB modem on notebook only works when running on battery

Hi,

I'm having a strange problem with my Acer TravelMate notebook. I have bought
an ISDN USB modem called "miniVigor" and this device works just fine *if* my
notebook is running on battery.

I'm able to dial in and access the Internet. However if I connect the
power-supply it suddenly "blocks" the ISDN modem so I *can't* dial in and
after around one minute it seems to crash (BSOD) my computer.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?
