Default MSA1500 with 300GB SATA?

Does anyone know if the MSA1500 will accept DiamondMax 10 300 GB SATA
drives? Compaq appears to have part numbers for 160GB, 250GB, and 500GB
SATA drives. Many of these are implemented as DiamondMax 10 drives. I'm
hoping they didn't hardwire recognition of the drives to a particular size
and that I can use 300 GB DiamondMax.

no, they did not hard-code any limitation into them. you could put 750's in
there if you wanted to. the thing is, you throw your pre-failure warranty
and support out the window when you use non-hp devices in the unit.

you can get your 3rd party disks, pop out the orginal HP drives, and put you
new Maxtors in there, and largely, life should be good. But, when something
breaks, you wont get any help from HP.
