Rack Rail for MSA50
The quickspecs for the MSA50 SAS JBOD enclosure say the rack rail option is
3R-A5281-AA. Does this go by alternate spare or option or assembly numbers? I don't find the 3R part number version on any of the price comparison services. -- Will |

I think it might be an assembly number, and not a part number. - LC |

The format sited above is not familiar to me. I think it might be an assembly number, and not a part number. - LC 3R-A5281-AA = HP part number, as opposed to Compaq part numbers which are still the norm for proliant range servers. spare part numbers for North America usually end in -B21 That's an option code number - that's what you use to order part or an upgrade, but not a "spare" as such.. If that's region specific, those last 3 digits can change. A Spare Part number ends in -001. Normally, all parts have a spare number that ends in -001 except explicitly region specific parts like keyboards or power cables. A part almost always has a part number on it (usually labled "replace with spare"), with the exception of certain parts like memory sticks, which can have an assemble number on instead. Most parts also have an assembly number on as well, though this can be hard to find. Parts never have an option number on them. |

Rack Rail for MSA50
I'm aware of the standard format of Option and Spare numbers. The
3R-A5281-AA number is the only number I am finding in HP's Quickspec documentation for the MSA50. If someone has access to a different cross reference, I would appreciate knowing the Option or Spare number for the rack mount rail for the MSA50. -- Will "Jez T" wrote in message ... If you go to HP Partsurfer they find the part and don't quote price. If you select the link provided there for HP Parts Store, there they find the part and tell you that it cannot be ordered. I guess we'll try the support ticket route. -- Will |
