Default Power consumption

Does anyone know how to measure the power consumption of a compaq proliant
6500? I'm trying to figure out how much it costs me in electrical bills.

thanks!

use the power calculator for the 6500, which can be found he

http://h30099.www3.hp.com/configurator/powercalcs.asp

basically, you are looking at about 600W ... so, every 2 hours, you will
incur 1.2kwh charge to run this box. Take into account that charges vary
depending on the time of day, so you might have something like this (not
real numbers, for illustration purposes only):

00:00 ~ 0:800 $.02/kwh
08:00 ~ 12:00 $.04/kwh
12:00 ~ 18:00 $.11/kwh
18:00 ~ 00:00 $.06/kwh

with the imaginary numbers above, it would cost approximately $21.96 a month
to run that server.

Also, charges vary by month in many markets.

hope that helps,

- LC
