Default Boot Disk Failure

Hi

I had a problem with my first drive. WinXP tells me I had a boot
disk failure. I reinstalled windows and the boot problem went
away. Now it seems very time I attach the second HD to the
system at boot up the bios does not see any drives except the DVD.
If I remove the drive cable the system works fine. What`s the deal..
I`ve never see this problem before...appreciate advice.

Do you have the jumpers designating Master and Slave set correctly??

Are you sure that WinXP told you that you had a boot disk failure ?

BTW, sounds like either your second HD is ****ed, or jumpered incorrectly,
but without telling us more about your setup, it's hard to tell.
