Default Slow BIOS

I have a eMachines eTower 733i desktop computer and the BIOS is extremely
slow. The boot up process takes about a minute to two minutes and when I
enter the BIOS setup it takes about 5 seconds for setup to respond to
keyboard strokes.

I'm currently looking for the updated BIOS version (if any) hoping it'll fix
the problem.

Any other ideas on how to resolve this slow BIOS???

TIA
OSPAM

P.S. - It's a Cognac motherboard with PhoenixBIOS 4.0 version 6.0 (I think
those are the numbers) and the BIOS is version 1.03 (2/12/01)
