hard drive for IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T43p (type 2668)
Hi all,
We've got the above laptop (product ID 2668G2U, if that tells you anything). We got it with a 60 GB factory installed hard drive which we now would like to upgrade. Apparently, these things have a custom firmware which would not work with just any good old ATA hard drives, only with some. See: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Proble...Pad_hard_disks I selected one of the disks that was supposed to work straight out of the box, specifically the 120 GB Seagate ST9120821A but it gives me an error on boot and refuses to boot Windows XP though it seems to have no problem booting Linux (I put both OS's on that disk). According to Lenovo's phone support, 60 GB is the max I can have in that laptop. Has anyone put a larger hard drive into that laptop successfully? If you've got a success story to share please do. Thanks you. Boris. |
