huh, some oak 1mb back in 91 (with a 386), sold
trident something that sucked in 95 with new p120 replaced in 95 by a s3 trio 64v+ $100 (2d), sold 97 matrox mystique 2mb (2d/3d, no true transparency effects, but very nice to play mech2 and screamer 2/rally with hd accel, few dx games supported it ) $170 (still running in this computer for dual monitor) 98 matrox m3d 4mb (power vr pcx2) $90 got tired faster... nothing suported it (getting dust) 98 cl voodoo2 12mb (3d only) $180 99 cl voodoo2 12mb (SLI mode ) $120, pair sold 00 tnt2 m64 32mb, sad, but was way faster then the SLI in a slot A athlon... and q3 looked much better, sold quick after buying 00 herc gf2mx 32mb 5.5ns ...$170, working in this computer 01 cl gf3ti200 16mb 4.0ns $260, sold 02 old cl tnt 16mbs from a friend $12.5, working in a server 03 cl gf4 ti4200 8x 64mb 3.6ns $109, working as a cheap replacement to the gf3 $1311.5, always in half/low range cards, my highlights were the v2 12mbs sli, gave me almost 3 happy years with only a k6 200mhz that kicked my friends p2's and k6-2 with 740's and tnt's. The gf3 lasted very well on a tb1333, as I hate AA, It served me well and I almost note no difference to the 4200 I got to replace it, as I don't play very often. I regret the tn2 and powervr, the others served me well. "MheAd" wrote in message news:Gz2Nb.3$O41.682@amstwist00... So for the Ti4200 - I really paid $75 to upgrade over the GF3 card.... or the Voodoo1 - it was $125 - but I had traded a HUGE box of PC books (Given by a client who threw them away) at a stupid PC Trade store.... so I really paid $25 out of pocket money... back then the Voodoo2 was a 8mb $250 video card!! The ATi9800 was included with a computer system it wasn't supposed to be included with, for a business PC (today, it has NEVER played a 3D game)... so do I, (A) Sorry ****, you didn't invoice this card or (B) Use available video that was paid for and put in own PC. PS: I got the 9800Pro just before the 9800XT was annouced... (And yes, if it went to a client or friend who was into games, I would have left it in) PS: The system was already discounted off $400. -- Remember when real men used Real computers!?
