Default Asus A7N8X - Is S/PDIF included?

Hey,

I'm thinking of returning my NF7-S and trade it for the A7N8X because of the
problems I was having with the Radeon AiW 9700 Pro.

Does the Asus board have built in digital output for audio?

This review http://www.hightekpc.com/reviews/a7n8x.html says it does, and it
shows a picture of the i/o panel, but I see no digital output on it.

Thanks

I still dont see it. Does the fiber cable plug directly into the Asus A7N8X
Deluxe board or is there some other plate that fits in a PCI slot. Its
called a TOSLINK connection I think.

To be more specific the A7N8X-Deluxe has spdif out but through a coaxial
connector not an optical toslink. You can buy coax to optical convertors.
I thought ASUS screwed the pooch on this one by not making optical
available.

The RH audio jack that is part of the horizontal set of audio connectors is
where it is

what is the problem with the ATI card and the NF-7S?

Thats sucks. I need an optical out. I thought they may have bundled it on
one of those pseudo PCI expansion card things.

My machine will not power on with AiW 9700 Pro when the power connector is
attached to the the AiW.

Tried 400W Antec, and the TrueControl 550W - same problem

Actually, now that I think about it, I think my Sony DA5ES receiver accepts
a coax connection for dolby digital. I should be able to go from the mobo
right to that with coax right?

That yellow connector does not look like a coax connector either, it looks
like an RCA jack.

I would have expected so.

Thats usual. Coax just means that you have shielding round the outside of
the central core - it essentially describes the wire, not the connectors.
