So you agree as well that flashing bioses is very dangerous.

The more reason for asus to make sure it's not required.

Yet the opposite is true, otherwise no full 4GB support.

Bye,
Skybuck.

Flashing bios's is fairly safe..

most Bios's are now programm'd with a moron factor that allows them to be
re-flashed without killing that moron section of the eprom..

you shouldnt flash unless you understand what your doing, because if you
dont understand what your doing then in all likelyhood you really didnt need
to do it anyhow as you didnt understand your problem and you were just
grasping for a fix.

Bios's usually have 2 things now in a protected zone, 1) the information to
load what's required for the sata controller 2) the protected recovery calls
that lets you flash after a screw-up.

If the BIOS is screwed enough that you can't even load from floppy, what
good does it do to have the BIOS flash part still working?

Some save the old BIOS version to a seperate memory section. If the
new version is trashed you can still recall, or revert to the
original.

AND, if what you are replacing in the BIOS includes that part (and it
almost certainly does) and the load gets screwed, then either you can't
replace that part (which is needed to be replaced) or you can completely
blow away what's needed to fix a bad flash.

Catch-22.
You need a good BIOS to load a new replacement BIOS.

* Skybuck:

What the **** do you think microsoft is using for their huge website ?

Definitely not Windowsxp x64, ****whit.

2. Dark Messiahs already benefits from 4 GB of RAM.

Yeah, right, and the earth is a disc. FYI: DMoMM is a 32bit program and
limited to 2GB of memory. But how should a clueless horse****er like you
know?

Benjamin

Good point ****wit but not really.

You forget the OS needs some memory too.

Quite frankly I don't believe your 2 GB theory.

Again you make yourself a ****ing moron, Sky****. You're even too stupid
to use a search engine, otherwise it would have pointed your bukkake
face directly to the MS KB reference:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B888732&x=10&y=10

Besides that there ins't *any* game yet that uses more than 2GB. Even
the 64bit versions of FarCry and HLČ don't use more than 4GB.

Maybe there is more going on like file caches, graphics caches, etc.

BIG PROBABLITY THERE !

The only BIG PROBABILITY THERE is that is was a failure of your parents
to reproduce. You're not living close to a russian made nuclear power
plant, are you?

Actually excellent theory from myself if I say so myself.

You talking about "excellence" is the same as a blind man talking about
colors.

OS is caching the data the game needs ! :P*

And yes Microsoft is definetly using Windows XP 64 bit for their
websites or related 64 bit windows versions !

LOL.

YOU ****ING HILARIOUS.

What you think they using: LINUX ?! PUH GOOD JOKE ! =D

Of couse someone who uses it's free time to make love to goats like you
never ever heard that there is WINDOWS SERVER. Besides that until some
years ago the whole MS internet ressources were hosted on Sun servers
running Solaris. No, I don't expect a ****tard like you to know what
Solaris is.

Thinking that someone would rely a huge companies website on a desktop
OS like Windowsxp is just plain silly. The only thing that's bigger than
your infinite stupidity is your ignorance. You already made yourself
looking like an idiot several times, without realizing that people don't
laugh with you - they just laugh about you.

You a PC builder ?

How would you know if they failed if you shipped them to your users ?!

The boards might as well have died a few months later because possible
of the flash chip failing !

Did you think about that ?

Bye,
Skybuck.
