At that price I doubt there will be any bids...
I see a lot of old machines on ebay with high prices...
don't think any of them ever got a bid.

My best sale was to a guy here in town who wrote some of his own code
many years ago...only to find that none of his stuff worked on the faster
CPU's...
so when his old machine died...he could not use his own custom programs.
he told me he wrote it such a long time ago, he'd never be able to recall
what he did
or figure out how to go back and re-write it.

I gave him a 486 I had...
but he would not take it without paying me.

That was a few years ago...and I still don't have that entire $10 bill spent
yet G

Well I still have my Packard Bell Legond and the original box and all
paperwork and media
and would not sell it ,even if offered a few hundred dollars...
so I suppose it really does have some value

Walt Kelly's Pogo once punned "semimental." You could say that your computer
has semi-mental value, implying the mental state of the person who values it.
Not completely off the rocker yet. ;) ... Ben Myers

Yes, I once paid $150 for a book
to replace one that had a lot of sentimental value.

Hello "philo" !

Don't forget, and I recently mentioned, a Packard Bell sold "Buy it Now" for
$3100 dollars last year.

Repeat, $3100.

Insane.

And that Bob Watt guy looks just like me !

I don't have such a modern telephone though, still using the good 'ol wall
thing with wind up crank.

If I had the money there would be a few things I'd gladly "overpay" for.

As to phones. I do have a few crank phones in the house...
they are wired up as an intercom system between the basement, and first and
second floors.

I missed the days of the crank phone as I was born in 1949...
but do recall as a kid, just picking up the phone and telling the operator
the number I wanted.

One day I came home from school and my mother showed me that we now had a
dial phone
and I could dial the number instead. I was a bit confused as I did not see
how that was an improvement.

That reminds me of something now.
A few years back, but not that long ago really...
certainly within the last ten years...
I got a side job doing some minor electrical work (such as replacing a few
lamp switches)
in the home of a very wealthy art collector.
I read in the paper where he had donated millions of dollars.
Anyway...in the guy's study...he still had a dial phone!
Good enough I guess.
