Default Problem installing Epson C42UX

It was alternating flashing. I have now downloaded software which allows the
printer to continue without cleaning the pads but next time I will have to
clean

Can you describe which red light is flashing, and exactly how it flashes?
(how often, evenly or in a pattern, etc).

Art

It may be a waste ink pad maintenance flash or a carriage position fault
flash or something else.

A friend had a fault on his printer and I paid a visit to him to sort it
out. Well after several attempts to solve the problem and failed I
decided to uninstall and reinstall. This I did but the red light kept
flashing and nothing would print.
I then bought the printer to my home and installed it on my second PC.
Again the flashing light and no printing possible.
I am at my wits end to solve this- Anyone got a suggestion please

Be aware that what determines if the ink will begin leaking out of the
printer has more to do with what type of ink is used, and over how long
a period the ink was accumulated.
Pigment colorant inks produces more residue that dye (the printer you
refer to probably is using dye ink that leaves very little residue).
The ink is made of mainly water, alcohol, and glycol. The water and
alcohol both evaporate relatively rapidly, but the glycol is very slow
in evaporating (in fact, that is why it is in the formula, that and to
prevent freezing during shipment).

I suggest placing the printer on a some sheets of newspaper on top of
some plastic to protect the furniture and carpet should it begin to
leak, just as a precaution.
