pink areas of display with nvidia geforce fx 5900 after latest windows update
I've got an nVidia GeForce FX 5900, and it has been fine for many
months. This morning I have noticed pink dots / pink areas in many places on the screen, usually in places where there is a specific shade of blue, but not always. These pink areas are not fixed on the screen, but rather to whatever image they are appearing on. Like in my blue-shaded title bar, near the end towards the minimize/maximize/close buttons, is a small area that is pink which should be blue. If I move the window around, the pink stays on that part of the window. (Just to illustrate it is not affixed to a certain part of the screen.) I have the latest nvidia geforce drivers from November 2004 (66.93). This only happens when I have it in true color (32-bit mode). If I change to 16-bit mode, it goes away. If I switch it back to 32-bit, it comes back. The only recent change made to my system was the installation of the 11 security updates released by Microsoft on February 9, 2005 (yesterday). I will try uninstalling these later to find if that is the problem, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up, and see if anyone else is having an issue like this. |
