Using TV to watch DVD from computer - how?
My graphics card is a NVidia Geforce Fx5600 with 256Meg. It has a S-video
outlet socket on the card. I was hoping to use my computer to play dvd movies but transfer the picture to my TV. I have tried connecting a lead from the S-video socket on the card to 'video in' on my TV but there is no picture - even after scanning all the freq on my TV. Any advice to set it up properly would be appreciated. TIA |

I sodded around for hours until I noticed that my TV had a S-Video socket, but on the TV itself (a panasonic) there was a toggle in setup that changed the socket from S-Video to RGB (I switched to S-Video, as it was on RGB) and it worked! Perhaps you should look into your tv setup. Also, if you are connecting the the computer to the TV you need to put your TV into 0av or 1av mode (on my tv at least!) -- MCR MAME - History In The Making Meet the regulars - www.tombstones.org.uk ICQ 112-191-725 |

Set your screen mode to clone mode or vertical span. Then set Full-screen
Device in Overlay controls to Auto-select. When you play a DVD, it will go to your secondary screen. -- Robert Pendell ICQ# 15670441 AIM: shinji2570 MSN: "AGR" wrote in message ... To use the video input on your TV you have to set it to AV - scanning the
frequencies wont help as the video input does not use the tuner input.
