hey Mike,

My CPU is unlocked for what i know, i understand that before some august
2003 date the cpu's were unlocked, mine is early 2003 purchase, so id assume
it is, with my config, what multiplier settings would you recommend?? or is
that difficult advice to give, meaning id have to set and test, set and
test... maybe a starting ball park figure?

thanks for help..

This is what everyone is telling me too, but why do I get better
RAM benchmark scores when running at 133/166, then?

Thanks for the info Almeyda. I'll give it a try tomorrow ( Had a few brews
tonite).

My temps right now with the 2500 at stock settings is 130F . I'll watch my
temps as I overclock.

Been looking at the AQs

RonK i overclocked only using the fsb going from 166 to 200, no voltage
increase, runs very stable and quite cool with my thermaltake, im of the
opinion that it still runs fine with standard amd heatsink&fan. Because of
my ram being pc2700 i used the asus bios config to divide the frequency
(5/6) for ram so that it isnt overclocked cause that cause some issues

only
with sound mainly, but for best performance PC3200 is the key. the xp2500
will even go further but probably needing a better cooling solution than
standard and ram, so im waiting to get some corsair xms3700 to further the
fsb.
cause of your ram speed ur in the same boat as me, im not sure if your

mobo
supports the fsb divider for ram, and ive heard that its not the greatest
option to take, but im happy for the time being and benchmarks and gaming

is
what i expected im very happy with the configuration..

Been looking at the Asus K8V Deluxe motherboard and the AMD 3000 64.
Supposed to be a real quick setup. I just have to explain to the wife that
we really don'y need any groceries for the next week or two.

I finished the previous post here cause I just happen to hit a wrong key -
Wonder how that happened ?

well don't get me wrong... I can put it up to high on 1024X768 and it
works just fine, it just won't auto detect it at high. Unfortunately I
spent all my money on the new system so a better card will have to wait
a while. Hopefully the X800s will bring down the 9800Pros a bit.

It's a kludge, I know, but beats nothing.

It certainly does. Thanks!

This is quickly becoming an amazing game, although I still wonder why I die
whenever I wade too far from the objective (such as wading into the water).
Is this normal?

Yes, as soon as you get creative and try to take a route the
developers don't want you to take, a helicopter turns up and kills
you. It took a lot of the fun out of the game for me, and turns a
potentially interesting game into another linear kill fest.
