Default WOL Problem with 8PE667 Pro...

I have a computer with the giga-byte 8PE667 Pro motherboard in it. I
have upgraded the NIC to a PCI based Intel Pro 1000 GT.

I now have a requirement to use Wake-On-Lan (WOL).

I have configured WinXP, no problem their.

I changed the BIOS settings to allow PME to wake the computer. Also no
problem.

I shut down windows, and send the Magic Packet.

NOW I have the problem, the mobo boots, but freezes before the RAM
test starts. And I mean FREEZES. The only way to get it working again
is to physically turn off the P/S on the back of the machine, and
remove the CMOS battery to clear the settings!

I have tried various scenarios, all with the same result.

HELP!

All advice and comment is greatly appreciated.
