Default GA-K8NXP-SLI

I recently picked up a GA-K8NXP-SLI. Looking at the block diagram in
the manual, the one SATA adapters (looks like it's on the PCI bus), the
other four SATA ports are run directly off the chipset.

I'm thinking that the higher performance drives should be on the SATA
adapter running off the chipset, and I should put my storage drive on
the Sil3114 driven SATA ports?

Does that make sense?

Same basic question about which Gigabit ethernet to use, one is attached
to the PCI-E bus, the other looks like it's directly off the chipset.
Any thoughts as to which one I should use for my internal LAN (which
runs on gig-E).

The NVIDIA ports are yellow and don't run across the PCI bus...so use them.

Also WinXP will support the nvidia ports nativly so you wont need to hit F6
during the install.

I own the K8NXP-9 which is same as K8NXP-Sli --- the orange/yellow
SATA is SATA-II 300 and it directly from NF4 Ultra as it normal as
SATA IDE the red one on the bottom one is SATA-150 that directly form
Sil 3114 as RAID -- I switched off RAID and used the SATAII (Orange)
that direct from NF4 which is lots easier to setup Windows XP, very
fast to run and I used the Marvell LAN port and swtich off the Nvidia
LAN port as Marvell LAN is directly from PCI-Express.

You better plug the hard drive into the orange port (SATA-II) beside
the IDE0/1 (Green and white) -- if you plug the RAID it make slighty
longer to boot up, ok.
